Skin + Environmental Health: Why ROOT Is Part of My Regenerative Health Work
I do not look at skin as separate from the rest of the person. In my work, I look at genetics, nutrition, environmental exposures, daily habits, and the choices we repeat over time.
Skin is part of the environmental-health conversation
My SelfDecode work has made me even more interested in individual response. The same product, food, environment, or exposure does not land the same way for every person. Genetics are one piece of context, not the whole answer.
That is why I am less interested in calling one ingredient “good” or “bad” and more interested in the bigger picture: what are we using every day, what can we simplify, and what choices make sense for this person and this household?
Why ROOT is in my home
ROOT fits the way I approach regenerative health: intentional choices, fewer random products, and more attention to the everyday environment around us. I use the skin line in my own home and share it with family and clients when it fits their goals and preferences.
This page is where I will keep that story together — what I use, why I chose it, what I notice, and the questions I think are worth asking. I want it to feel like real life, not a polished product claim.
What I pay attention to
I pay attention to repeated exposure, simplicity, ingredient transparency, skin comfort, what someone is already using, and whether adding another product is actually useful.
Clean beauty, to me, is not about fear or perfection. It is about becoming more aware of the products we use repeatedly and making better-informed choices where we can.
A living skin journal
I’ll keep adding practical education, product experiences, family use, client-approved stories, and related articles here over time. The goal is to show how skincare fits inside the larger work I do in environmental health, functional genomics, nutrition, and regenerative health.
